Mission
Through the collaborative partnerships formed by the public television networks of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi, the Five Star Alliance for Children will create and disseminate the Birth to School Toolkit educational and media training that shares the best practices in early childhood development with parents, caregivers, and teachers.

Together, the Right from Birth and Going to School video series and training materials comprise the Birth to School Toolkit, for use with parents, caregivers and teachers who work with children ages 0 to 8 years old.

The Five Star Alliance for Children was founded in April 2002 by Alabama Public Television, Arkansas Educational Television Network, Georgia Public Broadcasting, Louisiana Public Broadcasting and Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting provided funding to launch the Five Star Alliance for Children.
